“Mugabe is gone, Zodwa must come to Zim” – Zimbabwean men

Party lovers in Zimbabwe are planning to lobby their soon to be sworn president Emerson Mnangagwa to reverse the decision to ban South African dancer and entertainer Zodwa Wabantu to enter their country.

The Zimbabwean government under former president Robert Mugabe imposed a ban on the dancer for not wearing underwear. Zodwa was billed to perform at an event in the capital Harare.

The former Zimbabwean president grilled the entertainer, who is famous for her sultry moves and revealing clothes, for attending parties without wearing underwear.

“I’m sorry we disappointed many men… You just come without covering your decency. What do you want? Men to see you? We don’t want such…” said Mugabe at the time.

With Mugabe out of the picture, Zimbabwean men are looking looking forward to hosting Zodwa. “The old man is gone. We want Zodwa to come to Zimbabwe as soon as things are calm. Mugabe denied us an opportunity to feed our eyes,” said Knowledge Sithole.

Another Zimbabwe youngster said he travelled all the way to Durban when Mugabe denied Zodwa entry to Zimbabwe. “I drove all the way to Eyadini to see Zodwa. Young people in Zimbabwe love her. I can’t wait for dance next to her,” said Education Moyo.
