Pretoria man shoots wife for spending R25K for Bushiri Gala dinner

A Soshanguve man has allegedly shot and wounded his wife after she took their savings and bought the most expensive ticket for the controversial Pretoria based prophet’s gala dinner.

According to eye witnesses and neighbours, the woman who cannot be named at this stage, took R25 000 from the savings account of the family to buy Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s gala dinner tickets.

The gala dinner which will be hosted at Tshwane Show Grounds on 23 December is not an affair for the poor. The ticket prices range from R1000 to R25 000 for those who want to share the table with their favourite prophet.

“I was doing laundry when I heard a gunshot coming from my neighbour’s house. I went there to investigate and found the lady lying on the floor. Her husband explained what happened and then disappeared,“ she explained.

“Apparently the money was for their yearly vacation in Cape Town. The woman wanted to sit next to Bushiri at the gala dinner and she spent the money without discussing it with her husband. He lost it and shot her,“ she added.

It is unknown at this stage if the cops are on the hunt for the husband who is still at large. Attempts to get a comment from police were unsuccessful.
