Seven in, two more coming?
Kaizer Chiefs have already spent R27 million in this transfer window but manager Nasreddine Nabi has hinted the purchases aren’t done yet.
Kaizer Chiefs’ expenditure so far this winter window
- Rushwin Dortley – R10 million
- Fiacre Ntwari – R5.5 million
- Inacio Miguel – R4.5 million
- Bongani Sam – R4 million
- Bradley Cross – R3.5 million
- Gaston Sirino – Free
- Njabulo Blom – Season-long loan
TOTAL SPEND: R27.5 million
Who’s next on the Chiefs wish list?
A move for 30-year-old Congolese marksman Fiston Mayale, prolific for Pyramids FC and well-known to manager Nabi, has stalled. 20-year-old Clement Mzise was the next name mentioned. He plays for Nabi’s old side Yanga SC and has one cap for Tanzania. It’s no secret that the Glamour Boys need a prolific wide man, or a striker, or both.
Will there be sales?
Any purchases of high-profile strikers might depend on exits from the club. Rumours of a R20 million offer from Vitoria Guimaraes for Ashley Du Preez have cooled. If Chiefs can recoup that sort of money for the former Stellies man after his R10 million move two years ago, perhaps they can go back in for Mayele.

Business not done yet?
Manager Nasreddine Nabi has hinted that the club’s business hasn’t concluded but he’ll only sign quality players, especially in the final third. There’s been a huge clamour from supporters for the club to sign a new striker or even a new winger who scores goals.
What business does the club still need to do before the close of the window on 20 September, Kaizer Chiefs fans?
