Mdunyelwa: Our Ambition Is to Conquer All

Zuko Mdunyelwa, defender for Mamelodi Sundowns, has emphasized that the team is determined to secure the CAF Champions League title, defend their Betway Premiership championship, and triumph in the Nedbank Cup for an extraordinary season.

The Tshwane giants have encountered difficulties this season, missing out on both the MTN 8 and the Carling Knockout under the management of coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

However, the defending league champions still have chances ahead in the Champions League, the Betway Premiership, and the Nedbank Cup. 

“We shouldn’t dwell on previous outcomes; instead, we need to concentrate on what is to come,” Mdunyelwa asserted. 

“We are still in the race for the league title, the Champions League, and the Nedbank Cup. Our objective is to win everything that remains, ensuring we achieve a successful season.” 

The Brazilians are currently sitting second in Group B of the Champions League, while they top the league standings with 30 points. In the Nedbank Cup, Sundowns will take on Sibanye Golden Stars in the Last 32 round.

Moreover, the former Chippa United defender shared his disappointment after the loss in the Carling Knockout final.

“It was undoubtedly upsetting to fall short in a final; as players, we have dreams and goals. If we reach the final, why not seize the chance to claim victory?” Mdunyelwa noted. 

“Looking ahead to the Nedbank Cup draw, we are confident about progressing against the team we’ve drawn, even though we currently lack substantial knowledge about them. 

“Nevertheless, our technical staff will ensure we are well-equipped for the match by analyzing their strengths and weaknesses.” 

This Saturday afternoon, the Brazilians will welcome FAR Rabat at Loftus Stadium, where a draw will be enough for them to move on to the knockout stages.
