Bafana Unveils Final Squad for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers as Tau Returns
Bafana Bafana has announced its final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin this month, featuring the return of Percy Tau.
Tau, who has had a rocky relationship with the national team, has not played since the World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in June, and he remains the team’s vice-captain.
Ronwen Williams has also been recalled after missing several matches with Mamelodi Sundowns in recent weeks.
Bafana coach Hugo Broos has chosen to include Lyle Foster in the lineup, even though he recently sustained an injury while with Burnley.

Jayden Adams returns to the squad after being sidelined during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in October due to allegations of misconduct prior to the team camp.

Bafana will take on Lesotho at Peter Mokaba Stadium on March 21, followed by a match against Benin at a neutral venue in Ivory Coast on March 25.
Coach Broos has indicated his aim to achieve six points from these matches and is hopeful that Nigeria will also secure wins in their games.
