Circle Introduces Circle Payments Network for Instant Stablecoin Transactions

Circle has officially launched the mainnet of its Circle Payments Network.
The CPN is an innovative blockchain-based solution designed to enable real-time cross-border payments and settlements using the stablecoin, USDC (USD Coin).
This network aims to support various use cases such as business-to-business transactions, cross-border remittances, enterprise treasury operations, and payroll disbursement. With this launch, Circle seeks to modernize the $190 trillion global payments landscape, which the company identifies as fragmented and inefficient.
Initial participants in the CPN include Alfred Pay, Tazapay, Conduit, and RedotPay—organizations that operate throughout Latin America and Asia. Circle asserts that this initial cohort is establishing USDC payment corridors in regions requiring quicker and more transparent financial solutions.
Enhanced Payments Infrastructure
The network allows financial entities to exchange payment instructions via a secure, blockchain-based coordination protocol, facilitating instant settlements in USDC. Participants can also access real-time updates on transaction and compliance statuses through APIs and webhooks.
Circle highlighted that CPN encompasses more than just expedited transactions; it also prioritizes programmability, transparency, and 24/7 accessibility. The company envisions the network as a critical stepping stone toward a wider adoption of blockchain-driven financial systems.
Looking ahead, Circle plans to expand the network throughout 2025 to additional regions, including Nigeria, the EU, UK, Colombia, India, the UAE, China, Turkey, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Argentina.
