Cut the Drama: Chelsea Icon Eden Hazard Reveals His Fanhood for Rivals Before Becoming Their Nightmare

EDEN HAZARD is regarded as a Chelsea legend and one of the club’s all-time top players, but his journey started as a fan of one of their biggest rivals.

The retired star, now 34, shared in an interview that his initial footballing idolization was directed towards Arsenal, Chelsea’s London foes.

Stamford Bridge fans revere Hazard, especially because of his remarkable displays against Arsenal.

In his final match for Chelsea, he shone brightly, netting two goals and providing an assist in a dominant 4-1 triumph over Arsenal in the 2019 Europa League final.

While dazzling defenders like Nacho Monreal and Laurent Koscielny, one might wonder if a part of Hazard felt conflicted, given his history as an Arsenal supporter.

In a discussion with streamer Zack Nani, Hazard fondly recalled his childhood admiration for the Gunners, particularly idolizing Thierry Henry.

He mentioned, “I got to know Chelsea through [Didier] Drogba and others. You know, [Nicolas] Anelka and those players were my favorites.”

“But it wasn’t my dream club—I’m being honest, and everyone is aware of this.”

“I was a fan of Real [Madrid] and had immense respect for Thierry Henry. So initially, I supported Arsenal. I grew up with the Gunners.”

He quickly quipped with a laugh, “We’ll have to delete that.”
