With mere seconds left, a left high kick knocked out Usman, solidifying Leon’s title as champion in one of the most extraordinary comebacks in UFC history.
Now, three years later, his younger brother Fabian faced American Dalton Rosta in the Professional Fighters League middleweight final.
During a striking moment of déjà vu in the third round, Edwards executed the identical left kick to the head.
In a celebratory embrace with his brother Leon in the cage, Edwards was named the 2025 PFL champion.
He also walked away with a $500,000 cash prize after triumphing in the three-stage tournament, having previously defeated Impa Kasanganay and Josh Silveira.
With his ex-UFC champion brother by his side in the cage, Edwards, 32, exclaimed: “That is team head shot dead. That is unbelievable. God has a unique way of orchestrating things.”
“I’m really grateful. Last October, I lost a championship match against Johnny (Eblen), and now, in under a year, I’m the PFL champion. It’s surreal.”
Rosta, 29, had the upper hand in the first two rounds with multiple effective takedowns.

However, the American began to tire as he entered the third round, paving the way for Edwards to land his practiced signature kick.
He remarked: “I told my brother that he tends to paw, so I decided to go for that shot.”
