Judd Trump Clashes with TV Reporter During Tense Interview After British Open Setback
Following his surprising elimination from the British Open semi-finals, JUDD TRUMP was reluctant to delve into details about the match.
Trump had been riding high after his commanding 5-1 victory over Zhao Xintong in the quarter-finals at Cheltenham the previous Saturday.

However, his buoyant mood was swiftly dampened as he suffered an unexpected 6-3 loss to Jak Jones the following day, ending his quest for a first title.
The Welshman, ranked No. 31 globally, surged to a 3-1 lead with impressive breaks of 94, 95, and 95, resisting a Trump comeback to earn a place in the final against Mark Selby.
Clearly feeling the sting of defeat, Trump responded to interview questions in an unusually blunt manner after his unfortunate exit.
When asked about his feelings on the loss, he answered Channel 5 with a terse, “Yeah disappointing really.”

When asked for further thoughts on his curt remarks, Trump explained, “It was just the way the frame unfolded really. I believe we both made mistakes, but it seemed like I was penalized a bit more.”
This defeat may linger in Trump’s mind, as the 37-year-old quickly brushed off a question regarding his eagerness to return to the table.
He simply replied, “Not really, no. Losing is never enjoyable, so there are no upsides to take from this. Just on to the next one.”

The next event on the horizon is the English Open, scheduled to take place in Brentwood, Essex next week.
However, Trump will need to significantly enhance his performance if he aims to capture the title for a third time.
Currently, he is grappling with a downturn, having secured only one ranking event since the 2024 UK Championship.
This series of lackluster results has resulted in him being dethroned as world No.1 by his quarter-final rival Zhao.
