Moneyweb’s Property Pod Receives Prestigious Sapoa Media Award

The Property Pod, hosted by Suren Naidoo for Moneyweb, has been awarded the Digital Broadcast and Media of the Year at the South African Property Owners Association (Sapoa) Journalism Awards for Excellence.

The accolade was presented on 1 October 2026 during the Sapoa gala dinner, held on the final day of the association’s annual convention at Sun City.

Launched in 2021, The Property Pod has become a staple feature on Moneyweb. Host Suren Naidoo frequently interviews notable CEOs, developers, analysts, and institutional leaders who are influential in the South African and global real estate sectors.

The Digital Broadcast and Media category encompasses vlogs, podcasts, blogs, dedicated radio shows, and television segments, celebrating dynamic, informative content that addresses property-related topics through various multimedia platforms.

Nominees in this category were evaluated against six key criteria:

• Accuracy and relevance: Thoroughness and accuracy in discussing vital property issues tailored for the intended audience.
• Accessibility: The skill to present intricate real estate subjects in a relatable, engaging manner.
• Storytelling and innovation: Creative use of format, interviews, and production techniques to provide new insights.
• Technical quality: Clarity in audio and visuals, along with superior editing and overall presentation.
• Audience engagement: Impact on public discourse and overall industry comprehension.
• Platform integration: Efficient use of digital tools to enhance user interaction.

Competitive Landscape

The winner was chosen from a competitive pool that included media professionals Alistair Anderson, Ashley Muller, and Noxolo Majavu of Business Day.

Noxolo Majavu and Ash Muller were honored as the two runners-up in this category.
