ANC Elects New Leadership Team for Gert Sibande Region in Mpumalanga

eManzana (Previously known as Badplaas) – The African National Congress (ANC) has announced that the leadership conference in the Gert Sibande Region was “successful and peaceful”.

The newly elected Top Five at the 9th regional conference, which took place at Forever Resort in eManzana from 24 to 26 September 2025, are:

  • Walter Mngomezulu (chairperson),
  • Thulasizwe Thomo (deputy chairperson),
  • Aubrey Maboea (secretary),
  • Maqhawe Mlotshwa (deputy secretary) and
  • Lindi Masina (treasurer)

Thomo and Masina both hold positions as provincial executive council members for “public works, roads and transport” and “education”, respectively.

ANC Mpumalanga chairperson Muzi Chirwa stated that the conference is part of efforts to strengthen and unify the party.

“The ANC in Mpumalanga extends congratulations to the Regional Task Team and branches of the ANC in the Gert Sibande Region for successfully convening the 9th conference,” Chirwa mentioned.

He emphasized that the outcomes of the conference are aimed at helping the ANC meet the expectations of the people.

Representatives from over 100 ANC branches in the Gert Sibande Region participated in the conference.

“We are incredibly pleased that the conference served as a genuine ‘parliament of Africans’ in particular, and of black people in general,” Chirwa expressed.
