Madlanga Commission of Inquiry Postponed Due to Lt. General Khumalo’s Illness
Pretoria – The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has suspended proceedings for the day due to Lieutenant General Dumisani Khumalo falling ill while testifying.
On Wednesday, 1 October 2025, General Fannie Masemola, the National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), announced that the Divisional Commissioner for Crime Intelligence, Lieutenant General Khumalo, was “undergoing top-notch medical care after experiencing discomfort earlier today.”
He further explained, “The General began to feel unwell upon his arrival at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College, where he was scheduled to continue his testimony.”
General Masemola stated that he has been in communication with the senior officer and confirmed that Khumalo is “in good spirits” and following medical advice.
“The General’s health is our priority, and the Madlanga Commission will be updated on his condition and when he will be able to resume his testimony,” added General Masemola.
