Luke Littler Endures Heavy Booing from Liverpool Fans at Premier League Darts, but a Man Utd Supporter Delivers the Perfect Retort

LUKE LITTLER endured a wave of boos for the third straight night in the Premier League Darts – but he had the perfect response, clinching victory on Night 12 and savoring the win.

The 19-year-old world No. 1 has secured consecutive world championships and captivates the sporting community.

Despite his impressive popularity and achievements, he is still viewed as the pantomime villain in Liverpool.

Hailing from Warrington, Littler is a devoted Manchester United supporter—Liverpool’s biggest rivals—and often pokes fun at the Reds at every opportunity.

It’s no wonder the Merseyside audience took the chance to tease the young star.

Littler went up against Luke Humphries in the fourth quarter-final at the M&S Bank Arena this evening.

And he found himself met with resounding jeers.

As soon as the MC introduced Littler for his initial walk-on, a large section of the audience erupted in boos.

However, their jeers were soon overpowered by his entrance music, and he chose not to engage with the crowd, keeping his focus sharp as he approached the oche.

The heckling continued as Littler took his first throws, with cheers accompanying his initial two unsuccessful attempts at T20.

The commentator remarked: “I don’t believe they’re saying ‘Luke’. Quite the chilly reception indeed.”

Littler remained unfazed by the hostile crowd, breaking Humphries’ throw in the first leg and hitting the madhouse to secure a 2-0 lead amidst the taunts.

After three legs, Humphries had squandered all six of his double attempts, while Littler surged toward the semis.

Cool Hand eventually scored but found himself behind 4-0, and Littler checked out tops for a 5-1 lead, just one leg away from victory.

His stellar performance quieted the naysayers, and as he missed three match darts at 5-2, the boos had significantly subsided.

Humphries couldn’t take advantage, allowing Littler to hit D4 and progress, setting up a semi-final clash with Michael van Gerwen.

He once again silenced the boo-boys, rallying from down 3-1 and 5-4 to triumph over MVG, hitting six of his seven doubles.

Van Gerwen delivered an outstanding performance, averaging 107.5 and achieving a remarkable NINE 180s.

Littler allowed himself a sly grin at the start of the final against Jonny Clayton, despite the ongoing boos. An early break pushed him to a 3-0 lead, as Clayton stumbled on a key fourth leg.

In no time, it was 5-0, and although the Welshman avoided a 6-0 defeat, Littler clinched his first match dart with an average of 104.5—much to the joy of his girlfriend, Faith Millar.

Littler, who adjusted his darts during the Van Gerwen comeback, stated: “It was a good night, and I’m very pleased with my performance.”

He paused due to the crowd’s booing and jokingly pretended his ear was aching from the noise.

A laughing Littler added: “It is what it is; we move forward to next week.

“Rotterdam was way louder than tonight. This week was nothing compared to last week. I just had to remain focused.”

Littler also faced boos in Rotterdam last week after his antics against Dutchman Gian van Veen on Night 9 in Manchester.

The Nuke seemed to mock Van Veen—whom he defeated in January’s Ally Pally final—for missing a match dart, leading to a tense exchange between the two.

Littler missed his own match darts before Van Veen took a nail-biting 6-5 victory, and the world champion stormed off the stage after feigning tears and provoking the home crowd.

He quickly took to Instagram, posting a screenshot of his dart titles with the caption: “goodnight godbless thankyou manchester.”

Littler laughed at Van Veen’s remarks, in which he labeled the teenager “out of order.”

Van Veen noted: “I see Luke celebrating because I missed, and I find that abnormal.

“Yes, you’re there for yourself, but don’t cheer when your opponent misses.

“Then I see him making crybaby gestures towards me, which is simply uncouth.

“He’s a fantastic darts player, but I believe his conduct that night was inappropriate.”

He received criticism in Brighton the following week and faced the wrath of the Van Veen supporters in Holland due to his childish behavior.
