Ethan Ampadu Discusses Serious Head Injury in Television Interview
ETHAN AMPADU has revealed the extent of his serious head injury, despite Tottenham fans claiming that Mathys Tel did not hit him.
French forward Tel transitioned from hero to villain after he kicked the Leeds player in the head, having initially scored a brilliant goal that gave Spurs a 1-0 lead.
Tel, 21, had given his team an important lead that nearly guaranteed their position in the Premier League had they retained it.
Nevertheless, Leeds fought back, and as the striker attempted an ambitious overhead kick, he inadvertently hit the Welshman’s face.
Spurs supporters voiced their dissatisfaction with the decision, asserting that Ampadu wasn’t even touched by the swinging boot.
One fan remarked: “Leeds’ first and only goal came from a penalty where Tel doesn’t touch Ampadu.”

A second user stated: “Just watched the replay. At best, he only grazes him, but Ampadu holds the top of his head.”
A third user mentioned: “No way did he hit the top of his head, which suggests Ampadu was trying to convince the referee he was struck.”
A fourth commented: “Ampadu exaggerated it, yet Tel didn’t even make contact.”
Another added: “He didn’t see Ampadu coming and didn’t make contact, so that’s that.”

Referee Jarred Gillett initially declined to award a penalty until VAR intervened.
The official was sent to the monitor to examine the situation and decided a penalty should indeed be granted to Leeds.
Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin successfully converted the penalty, leading to a 1-1 draw.
Ampadu, 25, proved that he was not faking his injury during a post-match interview.
The midfielder displayed a noticeable injury on the side of his forehead.
The evident mark confirmed that he had indeed been struck by Tel’s boot.
Leeds shared a close-up image on social media, taking a jab at Tottenham fans.
The post sarcastically quoted the displeased supporters saying, “Doesn’t touch him.”
The Premier League issued a statement regarding the incident to relay the officials’ perspective.
It read: “Following the VAR review, the referee reversed the initial call of no penalty for Leeds.”
“Referee announcement: ‘After review, Tottenham number 11 commits a foul on the Leeds attacker. The final decision is a penalty kick.’”
Ampadu shone throughout the match in North London, earning the Player of the Match title at full-time.
