Mikel Arteta Raises Concerns as Expert Investigates Arsenal’s Injury Crisis Affecting 141 Premier League Matches

ARSENAL have recruited a physiotherapist to evaluate the injury crisis that could jeopardize their season.

The Gunners are leading the Premier League and are advancing in all three cup competitions, including the League Cup final and are on the verge of reaching the Champions League final.

Injuries to crucial players, particularly in the forward lineup, have frequently hindered the team’s ability to create opportunities.

Key figures like Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, and Kai Havertz have been absent for significant stretches of the season due to injuries.

According to reports from The Telegraph, these injuries have resulted in Arsenal players missing an astonishing 262 matches for club and country this season.

In the Premier League alone, that figure amounts to a staggering 141 matches missed.

In comparison, Manchester City, who boast a larger squad, have recorded 135 games missed due to injuries.

However, in critical positions such as striker, City’s standout player Erling Haaland has missed only one league match due to injury, whereas Havertz has been sidelined for 23.

To tackle the situation, Mikel Arteta has engaged an old friend to assist.

This associate is Spanish physiotherapist Joaquín Acedo.

Acedo has been part of the Gunners’ first team since at least last September, as evidenced by a social media post from that time indicating he was working on a “new project” alongside an image of the club’s London Colney training ground.

Another post highlights his close association with Arteta, showing the two together pitchside at the Emirates back in 2023.

Reports also indicate he has previously collaborated with the club on Arteta’s recommendation.

SunSport has reached out to Arsenal for comments.

Currently, Arsenal maintains a three-point lead over title challengers Man City.

However, Pep Guardiola’s squad has a game in hand and potentially a superior goal difference if they secure a win, which could provide them an edge over the Gunners.

Arteta’s squad has finished second in the league behind City twice, and last season they ended up second to Liverpool.

Fans are eager to end the long wait for an English league title, which has stretched beyond two decades.

A potential new injury to captain and vital playmaker Odegaard, following his substitution against Atletico Madrid, could be detrimental.

In his press conference ahead of the Fulham match, the Spanish manager was asked for an update on his squad.

The 44-year-old stated there were no new injury concerns from the midweek clash in Madrid, but acknowledged that Odegaard’s status remains uncertain.

Meanwhile, Arteta confirmed that Havertz and Timber would be unavailable.

He stated: “Yes, Kai and Jurrien will be out.

“Havertz has been a significant loss – we are referring to one of our most critical attacking players, and he has been absent for seven or eight months.

“Sadly, he isn’t the only one dealing with long-term injuries, and several players have missed time.

“The team has exhibited remarkable resilience in navigating these challenges while remaining highly competitive.

“Our focus now must be on availability and performance, and Kai is eager to return to the pitch as soon as possible.

“Hopefully, he will be ready for Atletico, and he is pushing every limit to make that happen.”
