Seema Reflects on Siwelele’s Tenacity and Goals for the Top Eight
Lehlohonolo Seema, the coach of Siwelele, has shared his relief after successfully guiding his team away from relegation in the Betway Premiership.
Currently, Siwelele sits in ninth place with 32 points gained from 26 matches. With four games remaining, they still have a slim opportunity to break into the top eight, provided they secure all available points and the outcomes of other matches work in their favor.
The Bloemfontein squad had a tough start to the season, landing in the relegation zone for a significant period. However, the former Sekhukhune United coach has successfully reversed their fortunes.
“Many people forget that after playing nine games, we had only accumulated five points,” Seema noted.
“We found ourselves ranked 16th. The players have dramatically improved, and they deserve considerable recognition for their dedication and perseverance. They had to quickly develop resilience.”

“I also want to extend my thanks to the Siwelele management—the chairman and CEO—for their constant support. We genuinely appreciate the opportunity they have given us to lead this team. The journey hasn’t been smooth, especially since they are relatively new to the sport, but they have effectively steered us forward. I believe supporters will have a lot to anticipate in the upcoming season.”
Under Seema’s guidance, Siwelele has achieved an average of 1.7 points per game, a substantial increase from the 0.55 achieved during the first nine weeks of the season.
The next challenge for Seema’s squad comes against Durban City, the newly crowned Nedbank Cup champions, at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Tuesday.
