In a post-match chat with SuperSport TV, Gabriel emphasized that their success stemmed from unwavering effort rather than just tactical planning.

“It required immense courage and determination,” Gabriel noted.

“We faced a highly motivated TS Galaxy side. Competing on their home turf, they gave us a strong challenge, ending the game with three forwards.”

Gabriel recognized that while his side let Galaxy have several early opportunities, their 1-0 lead at halftime provided a solid foundation for resilience.

In the second half, Richards Bay adopted a strategy of containment and counterattacks. While Gabriel was pleased with the defensive adjustments, he noted there were chances to widen the scoreline.

“In the second half, our focus was on containing them and seizing the right moments,” Gabriel elaborated. “I feel we could have added a second goal if we had been more composed in the attacking phase during counterattacks.”

Despite missed opportunities to increase their lead, Gabriel believes this victory could serve as a turning point for his young team. “Getting three points back to Mbombela will significantly enhance the team’s confidence.”
