Police Issue Arrest Warrant for MP Fadiel Adams, Call for His Surrender

Pretoria – Just a few days after MP Fadiel Adams, leader of the National Coloured Congress, expressed concerns over a raid on a house he formerly resided in, he has been instructed to report to the nearest police station.

Following a raid over the weekend at his past residence in Westridge, Mitchell’s Plain, MP Adams asserted that he is being targeted by the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).

On Tuesday, 5 May 2026, the South African Police Service (SAPS) PKTT summoned MP Adams to appear at his nearest police station regarding allegations of fraud and efforts to defeat or obstruct justice.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe indicated that SAPS possesses a J50 arrest warrant for MP Adams.

“The warrant pertains to serious accusations that he interfered with ongoing investigations surrounding the murder of the late ANC Youth League Leader, Mr. Sindiso Magaqa,” the spokesperson noted.

“During their investigation, the task team discovered that Mr. Adams had intervened with the now convicted hitman at a critical and sensitive phase of the police inquiry.”

Brigadier Mathe stated that the police have exerted considerable effort to locate MP Adams, including visiting numerous addresses linked to him.

“Arrangements were made with his attorney for him to surrender on Monday, 4 May 2026, at the Cape Town Central Police Station; however, he has not yet cooperated,” Brigadier Mathe revealed.

“Mr. Adams was supposed to appear in a KwaZulu-Natal court on Monday, but did not do so.

“Despite several attempts by SAPS to communicate with his legal representative, Mr. Adams has not made himself available to the police.”

In a statement provided to The Bulrushes, SAPS urged MP Adams to collaborate with law enforcement and turn himself in at his nearest police station promptly.

At his last public appearance following Saturday’s raid, MP Adams accused the PKTT of conducting an unlawful and intimidating raid on a Mitchells Plain residence he previously lived in.

He stated that on Saturday, 2 May 2026, around 4 am, around 15 masked police officers stormed the Westridge property without presenting any search or arrest warrants.

MP Adams reported that the officers aimed rifles at a 30-year-old female teacher, forced her husband to the ground, and assaulted the couple’s 12-year-old son.

MP Adams, who no longer resides at the raided home, characterized the operation as an intimidation tactic connected to his public dispute with KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, rather than a legitimate police effort.

He has filed an intimidation complaint and vowed to remain unyielded.
