EFF Member Nombuso Njokwe Appointed MMC in Sedibeng
Johannesburg – Nombuso Njokwe, a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has been appointed as the Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) responsible for Public Safety, Sports, Arts, and Culture in the Sedibeng District Municipality.
In a statement made over the weekend, the EFF expressed its enthusiasm regarding Njokwe’s appointment to an MMC position in Sedibeng.
“The EFF’s inclusion in the government signifies a crucial transition from unstable coalition arrangements to solid governance that prioritizes service delivery over ongoing political maneuvering and restructuring,” the party stated in a release provided to The Bulrushes.
“This appointment is a major accomplishment for the EFF.
“Since taking on executive roles in municipalities at the beginning of 2023, the EFF has proven to be a dependable force in governance, serving at the executive level across all five Gauteng regions, now extending its influence province-wide.”
The EFF emphasized that it is no longer a “government in waiting,” but a credible movement “with the capacity” to establish stable administrations that effectively deliver services.
The EFF articulated that its choice to engage in the government within the Sedibeng area will enhance governance and oversight.
“Residents of Sedibeng, especially in Emfuleni, have faced ongoing service delivery issues,” noted the EFF.
“Our involvement will elevate the voices of the citizens in both the executive and legislative branches of government in the region.”
The EFF expressed complete confidence in the selection of Fighter Njokwe, a current member of the Provincial Command Team and a former Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.
“We wish her success in fulfilling her duties to establish a responsive government for the residents of Sedibeng,” the party remarked.
“The EFF assures Vaal residents that our involvement seeks to ensure stability without compromising the revolutionary voice in council and governance frameworks, particularly given the challenges faced by our communities in the region.”
